Among the three constraints (time, money, and quality), contractors majorly focus on keeping the project under budget, and consultants focus on quality, while time is often neglected until the project is near a milestone. If the project schedule is neglected at an early stage, this can be a troublesome situation, as a result, completion within the stipulated time is not possible. To mitigate the delay, the contractor has to increase their resources and incur additional costs on top of it. Similarly, the client is under pressure to complete the project because of an upcoming lease or a tenant who has already booked the unit. Gautam et al. (2026) studied project planning practices and identified that project scheduling is very important to project success; however, it has been linked by organizations to the project budget.
A challenge in project scheduling is the lack of availability of trained personnel and expensive software like P6 or MS Project, which smaller firms cannot afford. Thus, CEMProject has aimed to make scheduling accessible to all contractors, from smaller to larger firms, so they can develop their own schedules and keep track of them. We have a total of three versions of scheduling:
- Excel version for basic scheduling for those who don’t have access to the internet at the site, or anyone who wants minimal details for scheduling. Watch the video to understand how you can develop your schedule and update it.
- Our Scheduler for creating a baseline program, which includes standard WBS, calendar, and critical path analysis. This tool can be accessed either with login or without login. Login allows saving files for three projects in our cloud for free.
- Progress Tracker is an extension of our second tool, which allows updates to the scheduling. Logged-in users can directly open their baseline file from their saved database and update it, while open-access users can upload their JSON baseline program to initiate an update.
